INBURGING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Integration: how to do it?<\/strong>
\nTo become a citizen, you must learn Dutch. And you must learn
\nhow Dutch people live and work. This is required by the government,
\nwhich is stated in the Integration Act. If you have learned enough,
\nyou will take an integration exam. <\/p>\n

For compulsory and voluntary citizens. For SELF-BETALERS only. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Course content<\/strong>
\nParticipants in an integration course follow a number of learning modules
\nto reach level A2 of the European Framework of Reference
\n. This is the level required for the exam. The
\nnumber of modules depends on the starting level of the
\nstudent. An absolute beginner (A1-minus) usually needs 300
\nlessons to reach level A2. At the intake
\nwe give the student a realistic advice on the length of the
\ncourse to be followed. <\/p>\n

Integration Exam<\/strong><\/p>\n

The questions of the Inburgeringsexamen are about Dutch
\nhabits and rules. During the exam, you must also show
\nthat you know the Dutch language well enough. These are the
\nexam items:<\/p>\n

– Writing<\/strong> (35 min.): Using pen and paper write short
\nletters and fill out a form.
\n– Speaking<\/strong> (35 min): On the computer you will watch videos and
\nanswer questions.
\n– Listening<\/strong> (45 min.): On the computer you will get questions about
\nmovies and listen to the texts.
\n– Reading<\/strong> (50 min.): On the computer you read short texts and
\nanswer questions.
\n– Knowledge of<\/strong> Dutch Society (45 min.):
\nOn the computer you watch short films about Dutch
\nsituations, for example shopping. You answer
\nquestions.
\n– Orientation Dutch Labor Market<\/strong> (40 min.):
\nThis exam component is mandatory for migrants who became obligated to integrate after
\nJanuary 1, 2015.
\nIt is about working and looking for work. You do assignments at home and at
\nschool and send the results to DUO.
\nYou useResult cards for this. Afterwards, you have an interview with DUO about this
\n.
\nOne question is about ‘diploma rating’: what is your diploma
\nor education worth in the Netherlands? You can request your diploma valuation
