In 5 steps to new work

We like structure, overview and clarity and our coachees
also ask for this. Experience with the search for new work is sometimes very long
ago and brings up a lot of questions and uncertainties.

With these 5 steps, take your job search into your own hands
and bring structure to finding that new place!

Step 1. Knowing what you are good at and what work suits you
Step 2. Know what you’re looking for
Step 3. Having a winning mindset
Step 4. Branding yourself and standing out from others
Step 5. Knowing how to find your perfect match

There is, of course, much to say about these steps.

We would love to tell you more about it so stop by for a free
cup of coffee. We can help you in various ways:
from one good coaching session to following workshops to several months
intensive coaching. Or a combination, because our coaching and training are always customized and we determine this together!

Career Coaching
For anyone who wants to take control of their own career. Who am I? What
are my talents, passions and motivations? Am I still in the right place? What do I want?
Questions that could come up just like that during one of our career programs.

Outplacement
Sometimes, whether intended or not, work at the current employer
comes to an end and new work must be sought. But what? And how? Topics
that come along are drafting a personal and professional profile,
determining a career vision including goals to then learn how to effectively and intelligently work the
job market.

Coaching
Sometimes you reach a point in your life when you notice that you are starting to get stuck. That
things no longer happen naturally. Or everything is going well but
you want to take yourself to the next level and you want to develop yourself and
get more out of yourself. Learn to discover and use your strengths.

Video job applications are on the rise. More and more job applications are taking place virtually or online. But also responding to a vacancy (the application) is of course free to respond with a video. A recruiter quickly gets a good picture of the candidate: appearance, communication level but also content it is a short presentation (kind of personal profile) of yourself (and your qualities and application goals).

Applying via video can be done in several ways:

1). Een open sollicitatie Video (presentatie)

A general presentation that you can send to interesting companies (so not specifically because of a vacancy). You present yourself briefly in a video of about two to three minutes. Briefly state your strengths, biggest successes and what you really like. Then indicate what exactly you are looking for in terms of position and organization (administrative support within an open organization with a lot of freedom, preferably working in a small team, independent). Check out some good and creative examples here.

2. Targeted video job application (presentation)

In response to a great fitting job opening (or several similar ones), create a targeted video that matches your needs and requirements as closely as possible. For example, state what appeals about the position, why you want to work for the company and what makes you suitable for the position.

3. Video calling

Through a webcam or other services such as skype, facetime, zoom.us, you can apply directly online. It’s almost like an in-person interview (without having to travel). Of course, this has advantages and disadvantages. The recruiter will ask questions like in a normal interview. Depending on the person (the interviewer), this interview can be very different. Short, long, well-constructed or sometimes just poorly organized. You speak and see each other at an agreed time via screen (sometimes you can activate the conversation with an email link > depending on the service or software).

More and more companies are asking their applicants to apply online. If you decide to do this (which sums up to no avail) we have some tips here:

– Pay attention to your attire. It’s a job interview!
– As in a one-on-one interview, body posture is very important
– Before the interview, test your internet connection (present, fast enough)
– Test the software, online service and/or webcam you will be using
– Choose a good room where you can conduct the interview
– Make sure no one can disturb you during the interview.

MAKE YOUR OWN (OPEN) JOB APPLICATION VIDEO?

We have made an overview with some useful tips if you are going to make a movie yourself

1. Limit the video to the content of your letter (always include your resume)
2. Write out the teskt first
3. Make sure you have a good structure
4. Practice it first (preferably with a live audience)
5. Place the camera about one meter away (at eye level with yourself)
6. Sit or stand straight or slightly angled in front of the room
7. View examples of video job applications on YouTube for inspiration
8. Refer to the video application (a url / link) in the email (and within the resume)
9. Have the final product (video application) reviewed by at least 2x other people
